"Good must defeat evil", urged Pope John Paul II and "Peace and love" was the greeting of the Franciscan monks since the time of Saint Francis. Evil is defeated by good, injustice by justice, lies by truth, vengeance with forgiveness, hate with love.

The symbolic place for this teaching is the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi where John Paul II held the first meeting of prayer for peace of all the religions of the world on October 17, 1986. Others followed and we wish to recall the one that took place in January 2004. In order to mark the importance of this event, it has been decided to place permanently, in the woods of Saint Francis near the Basilica, Anna Chromy's work entitled La veste del vuoto (The garment of the void), the garment of peace.

Today, you too can become a Peace Operator and support the construction of this universal symbol.

All you have to do is purchase Heart of the world, the jewel version of Anna Chromy's sculpture donated to the Holy Father by the artist for his 82nd birthday on the 15th May 2002, during the audience in Saint Peter's Square.
